56th Annual Grammy’s Recap

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards took place last night and if you watched while engaged in social media the general consensus across Facebook and Twitter was the show was rather boring; the highlights for me included Mr. And Mrs. Carter AKA Beyonce and Jay-Z opening the show with a performance of Drunk In Love the hit from Beyonce’s self-titled album. Kendrick Lamar’s performance with Imagine Dragons resulted in me joining Lamar’s fan club- seriously, color me a HUGE Kendrick fan. Other highlights included Daft Punks performance with Pharell Williams, Stevie Wonder and Nile Rogers and a rather confusing wedding officiated by the gorgeous Queen Latifah.

As usual, the real focus of any award show is always the red carpet and here are my favorite looks from the evening:

Rita Ora was in an iridescent cocktail length dress by Lanvin. I loved the bombshell-esque waves of her hair, the bodycon fit of her dress and her makeup, were all just pitch perfect.

Tamar Braxton
I’m a huge fan of Tamar’s music, however her fashion choices always ring inauthentic to me. Last night she found her voice wearing crimson Michael Costello.

Taylor Swift wore a chain link Gucci gown and was simply stunning in a gown that quite possibly could be my favorite look of the evening.

Beyonce also opted for a Michael Costello gown which definitely demonstrated her alter-ego “Yonce” is here to stay.

Beyonce Illuminates in The City of Lights

Beyonce flaunts her beautiful gams from high atop a balcony of the Ritz Carlton Paris for a recent photo shoot for Harpers Bazaar.  Bee rocks a smoky eye like nobody’s business and she looks stunning as she apparently had an opportunity to mix business with pleasure during her European visit as the star visited Euro-Disney while in Paris.

Beyonce to release new project this summer

Apparently the self-imposed hiatus for our beloved Beyonce is coming to an end as she has been hard at work on a new CD.

Earlier this month the bootylicious one appeared in Roberto Cavalli drag in what appeared to be either a photo shoot for her upcoming album cover or a video; well music industry insiders are indicating that after hearing 6 preliminary tracks from her latest project that her work is “groundbreaking”. Sony Music head Denis Handlin indicated that “she has gone to another level”.

I for one will be willing to fork up my money for her latest offering- how about you?

Beyonce in Blackface- L’Officiel Magazine Cover

I love Beyonce, I really do… I admire her hustle, her ability to continuously stay paid and on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

For the upcoming March issue of L’Officiel, the beauty graces not only the cover in celebration of the magazines 90th birthday but the bootylicious one also appears in Black face in a spread which honors Fela Kuti, the Nigerian born musician. The theme apparently for the spread was “African Queen”.

The photos beg the question bold art, or miscalculated misstep for B?

Beyonce Blonde Bombshell- NEW Feria Ad

photo: L’oreal

If you are a frequent visitor to the GF (and trust, me, I hope you are!) You have probably guessed by now that I am a huge Beyoncé fan. I was cuddled up with the hubby watching TV last night when Beyoncé entered my living room in the form of her new Feria ad… my response was quite simply- WOW. My husband was rendered speechless, as he typically is when he sees the bootylicious one.
Personally, I LOVE the ad, her new blonde ambition, the styling, everything about it screams FAB to me- What are your thoughts?

Tom Ford Women’s Wear Revealed

Photos from Tom Ford’s highly anticipated women’s wear collection have been revealed and none other than the bootylicious one- Beyonce was featured ripping the runway.

I have long since been a fan of Tom Ford particularly his fragrance collection and I am truly excited about his foray into women’s fashion.

Beyonce Tats?

There is always a method to the Queen B’s madness… remember her new Dereon ad that prominently featured tattoos? Well it turns out that the bootylicious one has developed a line of stick-on tattoos along with her mother Tina Knowles and the airbrush company Temptu.

The tattoos will be available as part of the Dereon line as of November 1st.

First Glimpse- Dereon Fall 2010 ad campaign

Beyonce’s Fall 2010 Dereon ads are making rounds on the net, so of course because I am an uber- Queen Bee fan, I’m sharing them with you! I personally love the edginess of this preliminary glimpse into the collection and I cannot wait to see what the entire range looks like.

Her make-up is aspirational- what do you think?

Beyonce And Jay-Z Duet at Coachella

ans in attendance of the three day music festival Coachella were treated to a Beyonce/ Jay-Z duet this weekend.

Beyonce joined hubby on stage to perform “Forever Young” from his Blueprint 3 album. Bee looked decidedly shabby chic rocking cut-off shorts, and off shoulder t-shirt. I like this more casual side of Ms. Carter!
